Vintage Undercover Wear Half Slip Deep Midnight Blue Pillow Tab Semi Sheer This is a very Elegant Slip! There is no tag stating what this slip is made of and no sign one was removed.  My guess is that it is nylon, but I can tell you that it is very soft and sensuous. Gorgeous 2 ½ inch 6.5cm scallop lace adorns the bottom hemline of this slip. We could date this slip to pre 60’s due to the tag (government mandate for materials tags was passed in 1960) and the fact that there is a Pillow tab in the waistline. (something most manufacturers phased out by the late 70’s but were quite common before that on quality intimates.) This could be an early 60’s before the materials tag mandate was put into effect as the tag is not a woven tag as one would expect of a 50’s garment but some printed tags were used in the 50’s though they were not common. or this could be a later date and the materials tag just was not put in. One that got passed without having the materials tag inserted. As I explain on my website, vintage dating of intimates is not an exact science but a best guess, given data we know and knowledge we have gained from years of experience.   My best guess is this is a late 60’s most likely 70’s garment as though there is no materials tag present there is also no size tag so most likely this one got passed without the tag inserted. But because of the pillow tab I would not say it newer than the late 70’s as most mfg had phased these out by the end of the decade  Also the scalloped lace was sewn very nicely with a zig-zag stitch which required more time and most who made mass marketed garments used straight hem lace because straight sewing was faster and cheaper. You now find only quality garments to have this much care to detail and as this is a quality garment I feel confident it was late 60's / most likely 70's Of course as I said best guess scenario.
