Late 1960’s  to early 70's Henson Kickernick  light cream  fancy lace s-m Just look at the gorgeous lace on this Vintage slip. You will not find this detail on slips of today. The large amount of lace is sewn on by machine using a very tight zig-zag or satin    stitch following every contour of the lace there is a scalloped border lace that runs the bottom and is sewn onto the fabric and the larger floral lace trimming its edge. There are three surged seams and a 1/2-inch 1 cm elastic waistband. The waistband has a lot of stretch and does not appear to have been overstretched. The slip is in wonderful like new condition. The elastic appears to have been inserted into the only seam that has been double sewn running over the waistband behind the Henson label then rotated clockwise 4 inches and double sewn into the fabric. Eliminating the need for a pillow tab 4 inches 10 cm below the Henson is what is left of the care tag cut out very nicely so as not to show. It took me awhile to find it. The fabric appears to be a very soft nylon or polyester as does the floral lace. The floral lace was sewn by machine but would have been very time consuming to follow the outline of a lace so intricate, the Trimming of the fabric about the inner lace was hastily done as it could have been trimmed closer. This smacks of assembly line procedure wherein the Mfg wants to produce a quality garment for the more affluent customer but at the same time wants to keep costs down, hence the time consuming sewing of the intricate lace but the haphazardly trimming of the extra material and the fairly loose surge. Taken as a whole it smacks of late 60s early seventies. The care tag would have been more helpful in dating this but still it is a wonderful elaborate half slip and I believe you  would be proud to own such a gorgeous slip.
