Half slips have gained in popularity as we have moved from one piece dresses to blouse and skirts. Most blouses are very feminine and soft due to the newer synthetic materials like those used in making half slips. The nylon , polyester and the advent of Antron, AntonII and Antron III as well as the use of other synthetics. Many of the younger generation while forgoing the wearing of dresses that would require a full slip will still wear a skirt and half slip. I've actually seen some wear half slips as skirts though they are semi sheer I believe it's today's generations way of vying for attention and I suppose there is nothing wrong with this so long as appropriate underwear is worn but some go commando and this is not something I would let my daughter do. But to each their own and if they want to put it on public display I suppose it is no worse than thongs or other wisps of clothing many wear. Some half slips are not shear and could easily be worn as outer wear. Like item # c0024 or #c0011or #c0022. I think you could also wear slips like a cami top or halter. Yes really! Look at the page pics of item #c0028 and you will see a pic with the half slip as a top on the mannequin. It really does not look that bad. I was just messing around and thought I'd throw it in for fun. Half slips give the wearer comfort from rough skirts and can be sexy and alluring in their own right. Today's half slips are mostly utilitarian where as in days gone by they were as sensual and risqué as the most daring of intimates. Split up to the top and see-through sheer they were designed to serve two purposes, and if I need to go into detail you're probably to young to be on this site. We often photo these with the split in front and some this is the way they should be worn but the majority the split should be at the side or in back. The nice thing about half slips is you can adjust them so the split, if there is one, can be anywhere you wish, as too can the fancy lace that some sport about the hem. I wish hubby hadn't deleted much of what we sold as I would have loved giving you the opportunity to see some of the wonderful items we had listed. I'm sorry if the pages haven't changed in a while but there are so many demands on my time that It is difficult to keep up. I recently moved all my inventory to my Moms as she has a huge building we have set up Tamicraft Embroidery in and are using for our embroidery business. In doing so I noted I have literally hundreds of items I need to list. Time is an issue though and I hope to be able to devote some to do this after the holidays.Though this site is commercial in that we hope to sell our offered products we have posted pages that are informational in nature that we hope will help guide you in either your selections or in providing you with knowledge to help you in dating vintage clothing. You are welcome to use the chat ( I lost the upgraded chat and had to temporarily install an old 90's version) and forums( currently hosted on another site I own Tamicraft.com) I would expect the forums would be the best place for Q & A. I hope to have a forum up on this site soon, so I can have more topics specific to this site. Time is an issue as Hubby and I have 4 sites we try to keep updated as well as a new business in Tamicraft Embroidery and a family to tend to. Myself, Hubby and two lovely kids. I hope I've provided enough information to help guide you to resources that can be helpful. I know it can be a hassle researching through the USPTO and others, but with a bit of digging you can generally find what you need. There are sites out there which will give you more information and some that are just information sites. Some charge for their services some do not. A lot can be learned with just a bit of effort. When doing your research try to dig deep. Read my dating vintage page and you will see how one person found a date and assumed it was the date Antron III came into use. Further research on my part proved otherwise. Always dig deep and seldom think you have the answer 100% nailed as there will always be an exception to a rule.

You'd be helping them, me and other people with disabilities.
