An about me page??? Hubby said I should say something but what is there to tell? Oh well I will place a few tidbits here but really I hope you enjoyed your visit and even if you did not find what you were looking for remember to add us to your favorites as we add to our listings as items become available. This site is an ever changing landscape of antique, vintage, and newer Intimates and you just never know what you will find on the Everything Else page.

ABOUT ME really?Well I really do not know where to start. You obviously do not want my life's story but Sewing and Crafts have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I come from a long line of Sewing enthusiasts and Crafters. My Great Aunts and my Grandmother would spend hours if not days doing nothing more than working on their individual projects and if ever I was bored as a child they would put me to work on some project or another. Through my crafts I met others who were into crafts and soon I had my own clique of friends who mostly were into crafts. We would spend hours doing all sorts of things . Eventually I got married and had children and moved away but I kept to my crafts. Taught my children crafts and when I had a Girl scout troop and a Cub scout troop I taught them crafts. Now there is just my Mother and I, as most of my elder relatives have passed on and my friends I had when younger live nowhere close by. And I am no longer a Girl or Cub Scout Troop leader. But still my mother and I work on our crafts on almost a daily basis; time permitting. We have invested a lot of money in machines and patterns and threads and yarns as well as having inherited much from those who came before. I have always wanted to make money from my crafts but easier said than done. I am currently in my mid forties with 2 children the oldest, a girl of 14, (as of this writing, 2005) has shown great interest in doing crafts but she has Cerebral Palsy due to a stroke at birth and with no fine motor skills on her left side, she finds even the simplest of things a challenge. We have adapted several items so she can participate with varying degrees of success. We have found a sort of knitting circle that allows her to knit scarves and stocking caps one handed and she has done so well, some may be listed on the Everything Else page but at her age interests come and go. My son tends to be into sports and does little in the way of crafts except through boy scouts. My husband was forced to stop working due to illness several years ago and we live entirely off investments we made when he was working. I have tried to supplement our income by selling my crafts and other items on eBay. But the cost return ratio is wanting and we just can't seem to make very much, even giving it all we have and spending 8 hours a day or more finding items to list, taking pics, resizing them, writing listings, uploading them, hoping they sell and only about half do. Most at just the minimum which is break even. We have found eBay a great place to unload that which you no longer want or is not up to our standards but not a place to sell quality items and receive fair value. We still use eBay to unload items we do not wish to list here or those we find unable to sell. But having our own web site allow us to list things for weeks, months, even years, with no added cost unlike a 7 day listing on eBay. So if an item is greatly desired or one we feel is too good for eBay it will remain on our web site for as long as it takes to sell. Unless money is tight then we may part with even the best we have to pay the bills. And yes we have sold some very nice items for pennies through ebay just to make ends meet. The really big problem with having your own site is that you have to narrow what you sell to a category that people will come to see and return to see "what is new". On eBay you can sell anything, as they have a category for just about everything. My husband sold his collection of beer signs and memorabilia. A few items did not sell and most of those hit the dumpster but he would have sold none on this site as it would have been out of place. My husband has created this site because of my love of fashion and another site he will create to show off my crafts; to deliver to our customers quality items at reasonable prices. Currently I am really into quilting and have moved from machine quilting to hand quilting. Very time consuming but very rewarding. It helps pass the time at Doctors offices which I seem to be at several times a week nowadays, what with my daughters problems. I still do embroidery but we no longer look at it as a business but for our personal satisfaction. I will be giving up the business license next year. We never really made any money to speak of from it and I have many more interests and obligations to fill the time. My husband is the geek in the family and has built the site and does most to maintain it . I help out where I can like resizing the pics and writing the descriptions. My girlfriend who is a bit older than I and has considerable knowledge of Vintage and Antiques has been a great help and is participating in bringing things to the site. My Mother is doing what she can to help make things for the craft site and has donated many items to help make this site a richer experience. & I know I said a few things on some pages that one might take as derogatory in that I have certain pet peeves that have a tendency to illicit some real strong feelings and opinions. I was going to go into more detail here but I may have already offended enough people so I think I will keep my mouth shut except to say. 'Do not speak of what you do not know as though you did. This is lying by any other name.' If you follow the 'golden rule' and harm no others in doing so your life will have been a good one.

You'd be helping them, me and other people with disabilities.
