VINTAGE HAND CARVED TOOLED STITCHED LEATHER COWBOY HAT I
currently have 2 of these wonderful hats each is different but both are
100% leather 1/8 inch thick and hand carved or tooled. My
parents bought these in the mid 60’s on a trip to Mexico as souvenirs
and decoration. They
could be worn and I give the inside band mesurements in case this is your
desire but they have always been used as decoration hanging on a wall. I
suppose I might have put them on a time or two as a kid but they are adult
size and did not fit well then. The
pictures pretty much show all the hand tooled leather and the patterns. This
one has: A
deer head tooled on the top An
Aztec or Mayan temple on either side The
temples are flanked by Aztec or Mayan beast heads The
background has a mountain and cactus Decorative
tooling surrounds the top, sides and brim of the hat There
are metal conchos front and back that are showing some rust. The
underside of the brim shows some staining but this is minor and could be
sanded or buffed out. Overall
this hat is in pretty good condition and could be used to decorate a
western motif lodge or cabin or used as head wear. They have survived the
years in unexpectedly good condition and would make a fine addition to any
