VINTAGE KIDS TABLE LAMP FOOTBALL FIGURE CERAMIC SIGNED   This is one of two lamps I have listed. They were made in the 60’s cast ceramic that was hand painted and then antiqued. Signed/ Inscribed on the bottom “RUSSELL”. They are absolutely darling!!!!   The story behind these lamps is that two brothers Mike and John (last name withheld They were friends of friends of my husbands,) who are now in their forties used to play football as children. Their parents bought each a lamp for their nightstand, and painted their names on each.   If the name does not match I do not think it would be difficult to paint over, and replace the name. This lamp is antiqued Green as a main color and the name on the right shoulder is “MIKE”.   This cute little guy measures: Base 7 inches 18 cm wide by 9 inches 23 cm long by 1 ¼ inches 3 cm high. Figure is 11 inches 28 cm high by 6 ½ inches 16.5 cm  wide. Bottom of base to top of bulb insert 16 ½ inches 42 cm.   The light works great, and is in  surprisingly good condition considering its age and that it was in a kids room as a bed side lamp. Some minor scratches, needs some cleaning and a couple virtually unnoticeable chips around the bottom of the base. The John lamp has a bit more wear and more chips around the bottom of the base. This is the best of the two as far as condition. Though the other isn’t that bad either. The lamp post and bulb holder are showing tarnish and some rust but could be cleaned up very nicely or replaced. I have done nothing but lightly wipe some of the dust off as many like the antique look (dirt and all) and a bit of imperfection only adds to the appeal.   The bulb and shade are NOT included.   This type lampshade clips on the bulb.   These lamps weigh in at 8 pounds after packing. EACH. These lamps are just darling and I am sure your young football star or football wan-a-be will just love them. They would make excellent decoration for a sports room or bar. # s0002 $20.00 + S&H
